Helsinki to Host MaDiTraCe Final Event on Traceability and Critical Raw Materials in Europe
On 10 and 11 June 2026, the final event of the European project MaDiTraCe will take place in Helsinki, Finland, and online. The initiative aims to enhance transparency, traceability and sustainability across the entire raw materials value chain in Europe.
The event will bring together industry representatives, policymakers, technology centres, research organisations and innovation experts to discuss the latest challenges and developments related to the responsible sourcing of critical raw materials and the deployment of digital solutions for the sector.
A programme focused on innovation, digitalisation and sustainability
Organised by Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) and Metso, the event will feature keynote speeches, technical sessions, panel discussions, live demonstrations and networking activities designed to encourage knowledge exchange among stakeholders across the European raw materials ecosystem.
Throughout the two-day programme, participants will explore strategic topics such as:
- Material identification and tagging technologies
- Development and implementation of the Digital Product Passport
- Challenges related to due diligence and supply chain traceability
- Regulatory recommendations and future roadmaps for the sector
- Initiatives supporting a potential “Extracted in Europe” label
Participation of leading European organisations
The programme will include contributions from prominent organisations such as OECD, BRGM, CEA, Spherity and DMT GROUP, among other stakeholders committed to strengthening resilience, sustainability and transparency within Europe’s raw materials sector.
ISMC at the MaDiTraCe Final Event
As a partner in the MaDiTraCe consortium, the Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC) will actively participate in the final event, contributing to discussions on technological innovation, digitalisation and traceability solutions supporting the responsible supply of critical raw materials in Europe.
