The MOSAIC project promotes a European workshop to strengthen collaboration in sustainable mining and critical raw materials
On 2 June 2026, the European MOSAIC project will host the online event “MOSAIC Stakeholders Workshop”, an international forum aimed at strengthening collaboration between regional ecosystems linked to the raw materials and sustainable mining sectors across Europe.
The workshop, which will take place online from 13:00 to 16:00 CET, will bring together companies, clusters, institutions, experts and European projects from Spain, Germany and Bulgaria to address some of the key challenges and opportunities currently facing the mining and critical raw materials sector.
A European project to connect mining innovation ecosystems
The MOSAIC project is coordinated by ICAMCyL Foundation in partnership with GKZ Freiberg and Cleantech Bulgaria, and aims to strengthen cooperation between European regions associated with sustainable mining, critical raw materials and industrial innovation.
Through initiatives such as this workshop, MOSAIC seeks to foster new opportunities for international collaboration, share best practices, and contribute to the development of more resilient, innovative and interconnected ecosystems aligned with European strategic priorities.
A forum to address the sector’s major challenges
During the event, key issues relating to the present and future of the raw materials industry will be discussed, including:
- Innovation and regional development
- Interregional collaboration between European ecosystems
- European funding opportunities
- Challenges and needs within the mining sector
- Exchange of best practices and creation of synergies
The event will also feature the participation of leading organisations and companies such as TECOI CORTE, ANALISIS DSC, Aurubis Bulgaria and DEM Deutsche E Metalle AG, as well as representatives from European initiatives including EIC Accelerator and S3P Mining Regions.
ISMC and its commitment to innovation and European cooperation
ISMC’s participation in MOSAIC forms part of the cluster’s strategy to promote innovation, sustainability and international cooperation in the field of critical raw materials and responsible mining.
Initiatives of this kind help to strengthen connections between industrial, technological and institutional stakeholders, fostering a more competitive and resilient European ecosystem aligned with the European Union’s objectives for strategic autonomy and the green transition.
