ISMC participates in the MaDiTraCe project booth at the EIT RawMaterials Summit 2026 in Brussels

This week, the National Cluster for Sustainable Mining of the Iberian Peninsula (ISMC) took part in the EIT RawMaterials Summit 2026, one of Europe’s leading gatherings dedicated to the future of raw materials, industrial innovation, and European strategic autonomy.

The event, organised by EIT RawMaterials, is being held from 19 to 21 May at The Egg in Brussels, bringing together institutional representatives, companies, technology centres, researchers, and key stakeholders across the entire value chain of raw materials and advanced materials.

During the event, representing ISMC, Alicia García-López and María Fernández Reyes were present at the MaDiTraCe booth alongside project partners including DMT GROUP, the ICAMCyL Foundation, and the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK).

ISMC’s presence in this space strengthens the cluster’s international visibility and continues to generate new opportunities for collaboration with strategic stakeholders within the European raw materials ecosystem.

Innovative solutions for the traceability of critical raw materials

MaDiTraCe’s participation in the EIT RawMaterials Summit 2026 provided an opportunity to present the project’s latest advances in traceability, digitalisation, and transparency applied to critical raw materials value chains.

Visitors to the booth were able to gain first-hand insight into the technologies and solutions developed within the project to enhance monitoring and trust throughout the entire lifecycle of raw materials. Among the main innovations presented were:

These tools contribute to improving transparency, monitoring, and traceability of raw materials across their entire value chain, thereby fostering an increasingly digital, circular, and sustainable European industrial ecosystem.

A key space for European collaboration in raw materials

Throughout the summit, the ISMC team held meetings and exchanges with representatives from across the European raw materials ecosystem, strengthening existing collaborations and generating new opportunities for cooperation with industry actors, research centres, and European institutions.

The EIT RawMaterials Summit 2026 once again confirmed its status as a strategic platform for dialogue on European competitiveness, strategic autonomy, and the future of sustainable raw materials value chains.
