EXPSKILLS-REM: Talent That Attracts
From 2 to 6 June 2025, Stockholm hosted the international Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Value Chain course, organised within the framework of the EXPSKILLS-REM project.
The five-day programme brought together students, professionals, and experts from academia and industry to explore the entire rare earth permanent magnet value chain: from the exploration and extraction of rare earth elements to magnet manufacturing, motor design and applications, recycling technologies, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The course also included a guided visit to the historic Ytterby quarry, closely linked to the discovery of several rare earth elements.
As a project partner, the Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC) supported the communication and dissemination of the training. Subsequently, as a final dissemination activity, ISMC coordinated the production of a video featuring contributions from the project partners and participating experts. The publication of this video showcases the results of EXPSKILLS-REM and extends their reach beyond the course itself. With this final dissemination activity, ISMC concludes its participation in the project and its contribution to developing the specialised skills needed to foster a more innovative, sustainable, and resilient European rare earth magnet value chain.
