ISMC participates in the HaDEA Showcase Event 2026 through the DEXPLORE project
The Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC) participated in the HaDEA Showcase Event 2026, organised by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), through the contribution of our colleague Diego Lozano, who represented the European project DEXPLORE.

Strengthening Europe’s competitiveness and preparedness through EU-funded innovation
Under the title “EU-funded projects and synergies driving competitiveness and preparedness: Strengthening innovation leadership in digital technology, industry, space and health”, the second edition of the HaDEA Showcase Event brought together EU-funded projects, policymakers, innovators and industry representatives to highlight concrete results and cross-sector synergies.
The event focused on how European research and innovation initiatives contribute to strategic EU policy frameworks such as the Competitiveness Compass and the EU Preparedness Union Strategy, reinforcing Europe’s resilience, technological leadership and industrial capacity.

ISMC and DEXPLORE: contributing to EU innovation ecosystems
ISMC’s participation through the DEXPLORE project showcased the role of sustainable raw materials exploration in strengthening Europe’s competitiveness and preparedness. DEXPLORE is an EU-funded initiative aimed at advancing innovative, responsible and efficient exploration methods, supporting secure access to raw materials while aligning with environmental and social sustainability goals.
Through this participation, ISMC reaffirmed its commitment to:
Promoting EU-funded research and innovation in the raw materials sector
Fostering synergies between projects and stakeholders
Strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy and resilience
A platform for dialogue, collaboration and impact
The HaDEA Showcase Event 2026 offered a dynamic programme featuring high-level panel debates, keynote speeches and project spotlights, as well as opportunities to connect with experts, industry actors and EU representatives. The hybrid format, combining on-site participation in Brussels with online streaming, ensured broad accessibility and engagement across the European innovation community.
Events like this highlight the importance of collaboration between research, industry and policy to turn innovation into real-world impact, reinforcing Europe’s leadership in key strategic sectors.
