ISMC participates in the MADITRACE General Assembly in Brussels
The Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC) recently participated in the 3rd General Assembly of the European project MADITRACE, held on 11–12 December 2025 at the headquarters of EIT RawMaterials in Brussels. The meeting brought together project partners to review progress, align on strategic priorities and prepare the next steps as the project approaches its final phase.
During the General Assembly, ISMC was represented by María Fernández and Alicia García, who presented the latest developments within Work Package 5 (WP5) – Communication, Dissemination, Exploitation and Business Case. This work package plays a central role in ensuring that MADITRACE results reach key stakeholders and contribute effectively to more transparent and traceable raw materials value chains.

Advancing traceability and transparency in raw materials value chains
The MADITRACE project addresses one of the most pressing challenges facing the European raw materials sector: the need for robust traceability, due diligence and trust across complex supply chains. During the meeting, consortium partners shared updates on technical progress, certification schemes, digital tools and governance approaches, highlighting how these solutions can support regulatory frameworks and market requirements at EU level.
ISMC’s contribution to WP5 focuses on strengthening strategic communication, maximising the visibility and uptake of project results, and supporting the development of a solid exploitation and business case strategy. These activities are essential to ensure that MADITRACE outcomes can be effectively transferred to industry, policymakers and regional ecosystems.

A collaborative European effort
The General Assembly also provided a valuable space for in-depth discussions on project management, future milestones and the organisation of the final project event. As the project moves towards its conclusion, the consortium reaffirmed its commitment to delivering practical, scalable solutions that contribute to a more responsible, transparent and sustainable raw materials sector in Europe.
Through its active participation in MADITRACE, ISMC continues to reinforce its role as a key European cluster supporting innovation, sustainability and social trust in the mining and raw materials value chain, in line with EU priorities on critical raw materials, due diligence and industrial resilience.
