NEO-CYCLE Stakeholder Workshop in Seville: Building Sustainable Value Chains for Rare Earth Materials
The Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC) is organising the first NEO-CYCLE Stakeholder Workshop, taking place on 29 October 2025 at the Hotel Viapol in Seville (Spain).
Under the title “From Spent Magnets to Circular Catalysts: Building Sustainable Value Chains for NdFeB Materials”, this event will bring together experts from across Europe to discuss innovative solutions for the circular management of rare earth elements (REEs).
Driving Circular Innovation in Rare Earths
The NEO-CYCLE project aims to create a sustainable and competitive European value chain for NdFeB magnets, which are essential for green technologies such as electric vehicles and wind turbines.
During the workshop, partners will present the latest technological progress in:
Upcycling of NdFeB magnets
Extraction and recovery of rare earth elements
Catalyst production from recycled materials
Digital traceability systems
Techno-economic and sustainability assessments
Engaging Stakeholders Across Europe
The event will also serve as a platform to engage with public authorities, NGOs, research organisations, industry partners, and professional associations, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Discussions will focus on synergies with European and regional initiatives, including Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3P), Circular Economy policies, and EU funding instruments that support innovation in sustainable materials.
Towards a Greener Future
By connecting science, industry, and policy, the NEO-CYCLE project contributes to Europe’s strategic autonomy, helping to secure a resilient and circular supply chain for critical raw materials.
