ISMC takes part in the First Annual Event of the European project PERMANET in Slovenia
The ISMC Cluster took part this week in the First Annual Event of the European project PERMANET, held from 13 to 14 October 2025 in Portorož, Slovenia. The meeting brought together consortium partners to share progress, strengthen collaboration, and define future actions to promote circular and sustainable approaches in the field of permanent magnets.
Representing ISMC, Laura Quijano and Kristiina Jockelainen actively contributed to the strategic discussions, reaffirming the cluster’s commitment to sustainable innovation and the development of a resilient European value chain for critical raw materials.
ISMC participates in PERMANET alongside its cluster members Técnicas Reunidas, Leonore Development, and Quantum Minería, working together to boost industrial innovation, promote responsible sourcing, and strengthen collaboration between research and industry.

For ISMC and its members, the project offers key benefits:
Enhanced technological capabilities in recycling and circular production of permanent magnets.
Development of cross-sector partnerships across Europe.
Access to expertise and strategic networks supporting the green and digital transition of European industry.
Following the event, the consortium also took part on 15 October in the 30th International Conference on Materials and Technology (30 ICM&T), presenting PERMANET’s objectives and exploring new opportunities for cooperation with experts and industrial stakeholders across Europe.
The ISMC Cluster continues to strengthen its role in European projects that drive a more sustainable, innovative, and competitive industrial ecosystem in Europe.
