The Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC) is proud to announce the completion of several regional and European projects between 2024 and 2025. These initiatives have delivered concrete results towards a greener, digital, and more resilient mining sector.

Led or co-developed by ISMC, these projects reflect the cluster’s commitment to innovation-driven transformation in the raw materials and mining industries.

🔹 GEOMAT (Regional – Junta de Castilla y León)
Conversion of mining waste into eco-friendly materials through the development of geopolymers as a sustainable alternative to traditional cement.

🔹 ECHO (EIT RawMaterials)
Promotion of electrification in mining machinery with the development of an electric hammer and programmable technology.

🔹 ExpSkills-REM (EIT RawMaterials)
Training of European professionals in permanent magnets, recycling, and electromobility, strengthening the talent base for green industries.

🔹 i4-GREEN (Horizon Europe)
Development of an interregional ecosystem to accelerate green technologies and reduce the EU’s dependency on critical raw materials.
