DEXPLORE holds its first in-person meeting in Seville: a key step towards sustainable mineral exploration
ISMC had the honour of organising and leading the first in-person meeting of the DEXPLORE European project consortium in Seville, following six months of intense collaborative work. This pioneering initiative aims to develop new digital methodologies for more efficient, sustainable, and non-invasive mineral exploration.
A key event for the future of mineral exploration
The meeting brought together the 13 partner organisations of the project, strengthening a high-level international collaboration. During the session, progress was assessed, strategies were aligned, and the next steps for optimising mineral exploration techniques were defined.
Main milestones of the meeting:
Presentation of innovations in geophysical and geological techniques.
Definition of new digital methodologies for non-invasive exploration.
Strengthening international collaboration within the consortium.
Visit to Atalaya Riotinto’s pilot plant
To conclude the event, participants visited the Atalaya Riotinto pilot plant, a project partner, where they had the opportunity to observe first-hand the real-world application of the technologies developed within DEXPLORE. Such initiatives reinforce the consortium’s commitment to developing innovative solutions for the mining industry.
DEXPLORE: Sustainable mineral exploration for the future
The DEXPLORE project is committed to using non-invasive mineral exploration techniques, reducing environmental impact in the identification of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) essential for the energy and digital transition.
At ISMC, we continue to lead the sector’s transformation with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and digitalisation. This first in-person meeting marks a fundamental milestone in the project’s development and reaffirms our commitment to a more responsible and technologically advanced mining industry.
