The first edition of the European Raw Materials Clustering Event (EURAW 2024), organised by ISMC and held in Seville, has been a remarkable success, bringing together 137 participants, 28 EU-funded projects, 81 key industry players, and 16 academic institutions. This inaugural event served as a key platform for the exchange of knowledge and innovative solutions in the field of raw materials.
Under the leadership of Santiago Cuesta López, Director of the Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC), and in collaboration with the ICAMCyL Foundation, the event received crucial support from the European projects MaDiTraCe, S34I, and TERRAVISION. The programme featured key interventions from speakers such as Martin Lange, Policy Officer for Raw Materials at the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship, and SMEs of the European Commission (DG GROW), who highlighted the importance of international cooperation for sustainability in the sector.
The event provided an ideal platform for discussing key topics such as sustainability in raw materials exploration and processing, emerging technologies, and traceability in the sector. The sessions fostered knowledge sharing and collaboration among industrial, academic, and research stakeholders.
A huge thank you to all participants and collaborators for making this event a resounding success. See you at the next edition!
