ISMC Strengthens the Mining Value Chain Through Key Agreements at Its Extraordinary General Assembly

During the 15th International Congress on Energy and Mineral Resources, held this week in León, the Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC) convened an Extraordinary General Assembly, where it formalised several strategic agreements with key organisations in the sector, including Minería es Más, Women In Mining and Industry Spain, AMINER, and IndustryTalks.

These agreements were signed as part of the wider activities taking place during the Congress and reflect ISMC’s commitment to reinforcing the mining and raw materials value chain in Spain and Europe.

ISMC emphasised that these new partnerships not only foster greater collaboration among key industry stakeholders, but also enhance the cohesion of the sector in facing global challenges and in advancing towards a more sustainable and innovative model for mining.

The Congress continues to serve as a vital platform for dialogue and reflection. Today, a roundtable discussion will focus on the effects, challenges, and opportunities of the EU Raw Materials Act, featuring leading international experts such as Sebastián Contin Trillo-Figueroa, AsiaGlobal Fellow at the University of Hong Kong, and Marta Cerati, Executive Manager of AMINER.

On Friday, the event will host an international clustering session presenting high-impact projects that span the entire raw materials value chain. These include innovative and sustainable initiatives with the potential to transform the industry.

ISMC is proud to be part of an event that this week places León at the heart of the European mining sector, providing a space for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic alignment among all actors involved.
