Success of the Final MINE.THE.GAP Event at the EU Raw Materials Week

The MINE.THE.GAP EU project successfully held its final event during the EU Raw Materials Week, a key gathering for the raw materials industry in Europe. The event served as an excellent opportunity to showcase the progress and achievements of the project, which has aimed to promote digitalisation and sustainability across the raw materials and mining sectors.

Several high-level roundtables featured expert contributions from figures such as Benoit Esmanne of the European Commission and Milena Stoyanova-Colas from EISMEA, who shared insights on the impact of initiatives like MINE.THE.GAP on the development of innovative technologies and the transformation of the sector. Representatives from the OECD and the S3P Platform also participated, offering valuable experiences and perspectives on how to continue advancing innovation in mining and natural resources.

One of the event’s highlights was the pitching session, where companies presented some of the most innovative technologies developed under the project. Among the participating companies were J&C Bachmann, MNLT Innovations PC, and ENVISOL – Sites et sols pollués, who introduced their solutions to some of the sector’s most pressing challenges.

The event also emphasised the ongoing commitment of regional authorities to collaborate on future initiatives—clear evidence that the results of MINE.THE.GAP are having a real and tangible impact in local territories. This support reinforces the importance of joint efforts in the transition towards a more digitalised and sustainable raw materials sector.

The final event of MINE.THE.GAP represents a milestone in the advancement of new technologies for the raw materials industry. With this success, the project consortium is now ready to move forward with new initiatives aimed at continuing the shift towards a more efficient and environmentally responsible industrial model.
